Who is NSW Department of Primary Industries?

The NSW Department of Primary Industries is a State government organisation set up to ensure profitable and sustainable development of primary industries.

Challenge

The NSW Department of Industries (NSW DPI) had a fish tagging program that involved obtaining information from members of the public. Each time a tagged fish was caught, the fisherman would send certain information to the NSW DPI. They needed a way to easily track the progress of fish in the NSW waterways.

Solution

DesignAvenue modified and built an Access database that allowed NSW DPI to manage data from the fish tagging program. When members of the public caught a fish with a tag, they sent the data through to the NSW Department of Fisheries via a dedicated website, where they were then sent a certificate.
